2- And Lisa Stansfield is WHERE?


3- Rocker/soulsista Res has dropped off the face of the earth. Shouldn't she and former Brownstone powerhouse and fellow black-girl rocker Kina get together and do something HOT?

  




4- Why have we seen almost every "America's Next Top Model" finalist in one way or another except Nik (from cycle 5)?

  



5- What is pioneering BET host and all-around cool-girl Ananda Lewis up to since her talk show got cancelled?

6- What happpened to the VH-1 "Divas Live" franchise. Are there any divas left after Diana Ross? Who's gonna "Save The Music" now?



7-Candi Staton (who will be at the Bowery Ballroom on August 9th) is back with a new CD, His Hands, after a million years off the radar. Could this be the comeback of all comebacks? Will we be able to put this in the "Comeback Hall Of Fame"? Can Freda "Band of Gold" Payne be far behind? What about Bunny Debarge?

Questions for the Zeitgeist- July 27, 2006

1- DJ/Rapper/"Grill-doctor" Paul Wall- owner of that infamous endodontic emporium in Houston where he outfits all of hip-hop's mouths with platinum/diamond teeth- is taking part in a VH-1 documentary on conflict diamonds in Sierra Leone and how hip-hop's obsession with "bling" has contributed to the ongoing war. Given the large amounts of income he gets from literally putting diamonds in people's mouths, is this a conflict of interest for Mr. Wall? Exactly how does one "bling responsibly"?




2- Yall know that The Real Re-Edit LOOOVES Nicole Richie, right? So...are her recent comments that she's "too thin right now" a cause for concern?

3- Why is Lil Kim, who was released from prison earlier this month, keeping such an uncharacteristically LOW profile?



4- Lance Bass admits he's a "friend of Dorothy". Who's shocked?

5- Speaking of "the love that dare not speak its name", why did Oprah feel like she even HAD to address those lesbian rumors?


6- Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt went on public display this week- at Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum in Times Square!!!!! Is all of this obsession with this little girl getting a bit...WEIRD??!!??? Weirder STILL, why wasn't the WHOLE family (you know, Maddox and Zahara!) included in the exhibit?

7- Ken Jennings wins $2.5 million dollars on Jeopardy in a record 74-game winning streak. Are his recent somewhat derogatory remarks about Alex Trebek a shining example of 'biting the hand that feeds you'?

8- If Eric Benet can cheat on Halle Berry (who is rumored to be knocked up), why is everyone so shocked that Peter Cooke could possibly have been stupid enough to cheat on Christie Brinkley?

9- Will the rumored upcoming nuptials between Janet Jackson and Jermaine Dupri be a "shotgun wedding?





10- Don't we wish that her PR machine would stop trying to cram Corinne Bailey Rae down our throats?


11- Lindsay Lohan rushed to the hospital for dehydration and overheating. Given her current beau's occupation (Harry Morton owns the Pink Taco restaurant chain), could she possibly have been hospitalized for overEATING?

12- Beyonce fans start a petition for her to reshoot her "Deja Vu" video, saying she comes off too slutty, that the dancing is horrible, and the video overall is an underrepresentation of her talent. Since when do FANS tell an ARTIST how to create?
