1. Are we REALLY supposed to believe that Michael Jackson fathered THESE children?
2. Less than 2 months after a Bengali wins the Nobel Peace Prize, The National Academy of Engineering announced Thursday that the 2007 Grainger Challenge Prize for Sustainability (carrying an award of one million dollars)would go to Abul Hussam, a chemistry professor at George Mason University in Fairfax- ANOTHER Bengali. Hussam's invention is already in use today, preventing serious health problems in residents of the professor's native Bangladesh. Are Bengalis the new "Asian"? Will celebrities flock to Bangladesh for their latest additions to their celebrity families?
3- We laughed at Whitney Houston when she decided to marry the incorrigible Bobby Brown only later to find out that SHE was in fact the craziest one. Now, has Britney Spears- who has gone all "Legend of Billie Jean" and shaved her head bald, checked in and out of rehab twice within 24 hours and attacked paparrazzi yielding an umbrella- managed to make Kevin Federline look like the poster child for responsibility?
4- They are ahead of the U.S. with regard to gay marriage and equal pay for men and women (at least at Wimbledon), but why are the British soooo behind on the importance of great dental care?
5- With rumors of rampant drug use, baby-daddy drama and ongoing litigation over her geriatric dead ex-husband's multi-million dollar fortune, has Anna Nicole Smith managed to be an even bigger trainwreck in the aftermath of her death than when she was alive?
6- Has anyone noticed that Loretta Devine has managed to position herself to be in the hottest TV show of the season (ABC's "Grey's Anatomy") AND the hottest movie of the year (Dreamgirls")?
7- With cameos in the videos for Nelly Furtado, Justin Timberlake and Omarion- is Timbaland pulling a "Puff Daddy" move? Shouldn't he just come out with another CD of his own?
Since I didn't do a review of Fall 2007 Fashion Week, here are a couple of Questions for the fashionista set...
8- She has walked in the Victoria's Secret fashion show, has made her mark on New York Fashion week by appearing in most of the top shows and has numerous campaigns (including that ubiquitous commercial for Target)- all while being unapologetically dark-skinned and beautiful. Has supermodel Alek Wek passed the "mahogany goddess" trophy to Ajuma Nasanyana?
9- Is there any doubt that Jaslene is going to win this cycle's America's Next Top Model?
10- He was hailed in the 90's as "the black Calvin Klein" and "the African American Christian Francis Roth" and seemed to be the heir-apparent to seminal black designer Willie Smith while picking up where Patrick Kelly left off. After a few promising collections and industry acclaim, he was forced to close his doors after a licensing deal went sour. He has popped up here and there (designing a collection for Barbie and then starting the Green T and Beauty Mark labels), but has been conspicuously incognito. Where the HELL is Byron Lars? And shouldn't Project Runway finalist Michael Knight try to get Mr. Lars on his design team?
11- Is it just me, or are Ed Hardy's ubiquitous T-shirts now played out? (Sorry, Madge!)
12- After her arrest for driving under the influence of marijuana a couple of seasons ago, Kimora Lee closes her Baby Phat fashion show by having all the models wear T-shirts emblazoned with her mug shot. Not to be outdone, Naomi (no last name needed) shows up that OTHER British drag queen, Boy George,(who as part of his community service had to clean the streets of New York) by showing up for HER perp walk/sanitation duty IN A FUR!!!!
And THEN has W magazine do a full editorial spread- photographed by Stephen Klein- detailing every ensemble she wore during her 5-day stint...

Speaking of FABULOUS...Jody Watley was the one of the first to incorporate high fashion and RUNWAY into modern pop/R&B consciousness. Her video for REAL LOVE was inventive and modern, still stands the test of time, AND showed off Ms. Watley's skills on the catwalk! Work, Ms. Watley!
