For the first 3 weeks in July. Guess you'll just have to watch the news and catch up on that NEW MidEast Crisis until I get back :-)

Questions for the Zeitgeist- June 25, 2006

1- David Edmonson, former CEO of Radio Shack, resigned in February after being caught lying on his resume! I mean, sometimes people take "liberties" with their employment records, but DAMN! First H&R Block, then Enron, now Radio Shack. With so many corporate officers fudging the numbers, who do we trust?

2- With James Gandolfini mediating talks between HBO and his co-stars Steve Van Zandt and Tony Sirico (who are asking for DOUBLE what they were paid per episode for last season's lackluster year)...Isn't it time for "The Sopranos" to 'sleep with the fishes'?

3- Pete Townsend- guitarist for The Who- named on a sex offender's list following a child porn offense in 2003, publishes an erotic short story on his website depicting graphic sex between a 16- year old boy and girl. If these allegations and those against MIJAC are true, are ANY kids safe anymore?

4- According to a Reader's Digest survey, New York City is the most polite city in the world. Where, exactly, is this city that they're speaking of, and why haven't they informed Trayshawna at the McDonald's on 42nd Street of that survey? (yeah, I put her ass on BLAST, but given the funky attitude I got from her the other day simply for requesting some extra pepper packets, its called for!!!)

5- Knicks head coach Larry Brown is ousted after a 23-59 season (the second worst in the NBA) after one year and with 40 millions dollars left on his 5-year contract. President/General Manager Isiah Thomas will take the reigns as head coach. Shouldn't "Zeke" also take some of the blame for the Knicks' worst season in history and a bloated payroll of $125 million ($110 million of which is STILL owed to Stephon Marbury and Steve Francis)?

6- One of Andy Warhol's wigs fetches $10,800 at a recent auction at Christie's. Who is going to wear it?

7-Two locations for the 'Hip-Hop Soda Shop' are scheduled to open this summer- one in Harlem and the other in Union Square- with "Diplomat" extraordinaire Julez Santana and NBA Beast Ben Gordon lined up as future investors. How long will it be before the novelty of menu items like "Snoop's Drop it like its Hot Dogg" wears off?

8- Nothing against Cheri Dennis or the Making The Band (3!) chicks, but...shouldn't Diddy leave the "pop tarts" alone and just do a TOTAL reunion? Where ARE Kima, Keisha, and Pam?

9- And while we're on Bad Boy, what happened to that Elliot Ness and Babs Bunny "Bonnie and Clyde" CD that was supposed to be released?

10- Bad Boy, part three...Mezco Toys will be releasing a nine-inch Notorious B.I.G. action figure.

What the F$*&@)(%$&*KKK?

11- Isn't Jody Watley's video for "Still a Thrill" STILL one of the funkiest songs (and videos) to come out of the late 80's? Shouldn't T-Boz remake this song and put some stank on it?

Questions for the Zeitgeist- June 18, 2006

1- Are we ready for Ms. Jackson's new single with Nelly, "Call On Me"? Does is sound "laid-back" or "BORING?
1a-Is Beyonce's single with Jay-Z, "Deja Vu", what we really wanted from Janet?

2- Will Frederic Rouzand (managing director of Louis Roderer Cristal champagne), by characterizing hip-hop's consumption of its most popular spirit as "unwanted attention", be solely responsible for its stock price plummeting- now that Jay-Z is leading a boycott? Who will be "poppin Cris" now?

3- Why would ANYBODY want to deal with THIS all day long from their baby's momma?

4- Not taking anything away from Al Gore's current theatrical release, but...Given the affirmative action-killing laws recently passed in California preventing universities from considering race in their admissions process, isn't the fact that ONLY 98 black applicants will be incoming freshman at diversity-challenged UCLA REALLY "An Inconvenient Truth"?

5- Where in the HELL is Toni Braxton?

6- He burst on the scene in the 90's by becoming the youngest tailor- black or otherwise- to open up shop on London's Savile Row. He has outfitted everyone from Will Smith to Mick Jagger to Seal to David Bowie to Jamie Foxx. He has taken the reigns as creative director at the legendary French Emporium Givenchy. Now he is poised to be THE British invasion of 2006 with his new show on the Sundance channel "House of Boateng". Are people FINALLY going to stop sleeping on bespoke menswear designer Ozwald Boateng?

7- What's the FIRST thing Lil' Kim will do once she's released from "the Fed"?

8- Whatever happened to 80's UK supergroup (and Jackson 5 knock-off) Five Star?

Questions for the Zeitgeist- June 10, 2006

1- Now that Kelis brought all the boys to the yard 2 years ago, is she poised to attain GODDESS status with her ghetto-fab summer anthem "BOSSY"?

2- Didn't we know this was coming?

3- Will Mariah Carey ever look as HOT as she looked in the Busta Rhymes video "I Know What You Want"?

4- MTV's Making the Band 3 is debuting this week. Damn, Diddy, by season 3, shouldn't the band have been MADE already?

5- LOOVE Rosie Perez. LOVE her. Can't wait to see her documentary "Yo Soy Boricua, Pa'Que Tu Lo Sepas" (Monday, June 12th, 9pmEST on the Independent Film Channel). But...come on- after being in numerous movies and a couple of stage productions---doesn't her "accent" sound a little too, shall we say, PUT ON? Doesn't she sound just a little TOO stereotypically Puerto Rican? Are chicas in East Harlem saying, "damn, do we REALLY sound like THAT" ?

6- Who the F*#(K thought up SUDOKU?

7- OK, OK, I know we go back and forth over who might be in contention for "The Ultimate Hustler". But, Dame Dash, it just MIGHT be your former business partner- the incomparable Shawn Carter. Jay-Z does a commercial for computer giant Hewlett Packard!! (catch it here). Is this really Jay-Z's world, and we're just living in it?

8- ATL "Dungeon Family" uncle and "Goodie Mob" member Cee-LO (in current reincarnation as lead singer for the futuristic-soul group 'Gnarls Barkley') has allegedly not only cheated on his wife, but allowed the British cluck he creeped with to TAKE PICTURES of his infidelity!! With his newfound income from his smash hit and the probability that Christina would be entitled to at least HALF of it in the event of a divorce, is Cee-Lo really the one that's "CRAZY"?
